Hmm.. abstract equals conceptual? if not i'll move it to the miscellaneous subcategory...

I'm kinda pleased with this... and look. Non anime! lol. Designed for a college mag.

'Idraaq', the word, i take as 'understanding'. kinda like wisdom, knowledge and all that thrown in...

tried to use symbolism

the sea> Vast> infinity> knowledge
Dawn>> light, being delived from darkness
the roman lamp of light
Divine hand and veil >> reference to khayyam's ' there was a door to which i found no key, there was a veil beyon hich i could not see' kindas like, drawing the veil off in this respect and revealing....
Tree>> the tree of knowledge, with the
apple> fruit of the tree of knowledge.... yeah, i know Satan misled Eve and Adam and yada yada yada, but whatever...
Globe>> um.. world... wiide... wisdom? :D
and the step ladder of books... the common clip the sdtaircase of tomes to uh, the gateway of knowledge.. yeah.

Hehe, i figure i cud touch this up sometime later, the sea and a little more detail to the books, plus need to fix the wood a bit, and i forgot to add the quill... but i prolly wont be doing that anytime soon...

My dad said it looked like looking out the window of a old study/room out onto the sea... *shrugs* XD

oh yeah, 14 hours or so.. O.o i think thats less.. :D

the books and the globe and everything in the foreground really builds up to the beautiful view of the sea. i love this composition!
the window frame is so cool and original.... really, this whole piece is pretty original! :wow:
i adore it, everything compliments each other beautifully.
